Despite the cold and tricky weather conditions around the North East, Sunderland AFC grabbed a 1-0 victory vs Portsmouth to remain in the hunt for automatic promotion.

A fine penalty save from Anthony Patterson along with a composed finish from Eliezer Mayenda and an exquisite finish from Thierry Henry clone Wilson Isidor meant that the lads remain firmly in the hunt for automatic promotion with a hard-fought 2-1 win over promotion rivals Sheff Utd.
Joining Bilbao Black Cats´ Lee Thirkell to go over the match were 2 debutants in Martin Bates from Toronto in Canada and Craig Hill in Sollentuna just outside Stockholm in Sweden, both of whom share their Sunderland story.

The lads conceded in the 92nd minute to lose 1-0 away at managerless Stoke City. Plenty of chances but had it not been for an impressive performance by Stoke's keeper, we'd probably have won that comfortably.

The lads almost had the 3 points in the bag but a late equaliser meant the points were shared at Ewood Park.
The 1st half can be summed up by saying the best thing about it was Jude Bellingham in the stands singing "Shearer is a wanker". 2nd half was much better with goals from Rigg and Isidor but sadly we couldn't hold on.

Bellingham outstanding, Jobe outstanding. It definitely is the same bloke as the lads came from behind for the 4th game in a row to take 3 points vs Norwich in a feisty 2-1 win at the Stadium of Light in front of 40,000 fans thanks to goals from Dan Ballard and Jobe Bellingham.

After 5 draws and 1 defeat, Sunderland AFC finally got back to winning ways thanks to a brace from the excellent 18 year old new kid on the block Tommy Watson which helped us to maintain the push for automatic promotion.
To go over the match, Lee Thirkell from the Bilbao Black Cats was joined by debutant Alistair Cockayne who hails from Nottingham but now lives in Melbourne, Australia and regular guest Michael Dunne from the Irish Black Cats.
